Meet The Orthodontist

Dr Aidan Murphy

Aidan graduated from Dental School at University College Cork in 1994. Following his dental training, Aidan practised as a general family dentist for several years in the U.K and Australia. During his time in Australia, Aidan developed an interest in the field of Orthodontics and so returned to the U.K. to begin his post-graduate studies. Aidan worked in a number of hospitals gaining a great deal of experience in different areas of dentistry -Restorative, Paediatric and Oral Surgery.

In 1999, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and in 2002 he was awarded the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Aidan completed a three year full-time Masters Programme in Orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital in 2002 graduating with a MSc in Orthodontics from the University of London. As part of his clinical training, Aidan attended the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital (Norwich) and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Kings Lynn) where he was exposed to excellent training and treated a wide variety of cases.

Aidan returned home to Cork in 2003 and joined another Orthodontist, Liam Murphy, at 2 Camden Place. Aidan has worked exclusively in the field of Orthodontics for over 15 years completing thousands of orthodontic cases. Aidan has real passion for his work and enjoys meeting new patients and treating interesting and challenging cases.
