Your First Appointment

What will happen at my first appointment?

At your first visit we will take your details and medical history. Aidan will then examine your mouth and teeth using a small mouth mirror and ruler.

Our comprehensive assessment includes:

• Assessment of teeth and facial structures
• Oral examination
• Digital Photographs
• Impressions for study models
• Digital X-rays as required
• Free follow-up treatment planning appointment

All of these measurements and records will help Aidan decide which is the best treatment for you.

What will happen next?

There are four possible outcomes, each of which will be explained to you in plain and simple language by Aidan. These include:

• You are too young and not ready for treatment in which case you may need to see Aidan again when you are older.
• Your oral health needs improvement. This may be due to poor tooth brushing or decayed teeth. You may need to see your dentist before orthodontic treatment can start.
• You do not need treatment because the position of your teeth is perfectly acceptable.
• You are ready for treatment and need to decide whether to go ahead.

What happens if I am ready to start treatment?

Aidan will explain:

• The different treatment options and which is best for you
• The risks and benefits of treatment
• The length of of time treatment may take
• The cost of your treatment along with payment plan options

At this point you will be given the chance to ask questions. If you are keen to proceed with treatment you can book a follow up appointment.
